Innovative Health Solutions

Health Initiatives provides a range of educational resources for Medi-Share's 50,000 members nationwide. The team includes 21 staff members, plus a dozen consultants from the health professions – medicine, neuropsychology, exercise physiology, physical therapy, and nutrition. Current programs and resources include:

•  Call in and speak with a team member or consultant with your health or fitness questions Our team members are health educators - Health Initiatives does not provide a “doctor or nurse on-call” service; we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe for disease, illness or injury.

•  Incentive programs to encourage a healthy lifestyle – the current program is entitled “No Pain – Big Gain” in which you can qualify for weekly, monthly and quarterly rewards

•  One-on-one programs – enlist the help of your own personal health consultant as you work toward your goals. There are currently more than 600 Medi-Share members in individually-tailored, consultant-guided programs

•  This website (ccmhi.org) - an ever-expanding wealth of resources at your fingertips – health calculators, health-risk assessment tools, articles, programs and videos

Our Mission

To promote healthy life management among our Members and staff through research-informed, biblically based educational programs and resources

The Path to health

Health is a product of

  • Knowing God,
  • Intimacy with the special people of our lives,
  • Meaningful work done in God's service,
  • Edifying recreation,
  • Wise care of the body, and
  • Traveling light by bringing closure to past negative life issues

Health and Fitness in Perspective

Health/fitness is not an end in itself, but serves a higher purpose: to help equip us to be fully expressive and better serve God across the entire spectrum of life areas:

•  Spiritual – relationship with God; participation in the life of the Church

•  Relational – knowing, enjoying and serving the special people of our lives

•  Vocational – self-consistent expression of our talents, gifts and passions in the LORD's service

•  Recreative – taking sufficient daily (sleep, “time out”), weekly (celebrating the Sabbath), yearly (vacation), and extended (sabbatical) time for rest and restorative activity.
